Skate scootin' around
One of Skyler's favourite tv shows (I know, I know, I can hear the tsk-tsking of your disapproval...) is Playhouse Disney's "My Friends Tigger & Pooh". Heck, we watch it so often that even I can sing the theme song. Initially, I'd sing it to Skyler whenever I change her diapers or give her a bath but lately, I've caught myself singing it even when Skyler isn't with me. Horrors!
I'm so glad I spoke to Ailing about it one day because I found out that she does the same...not only that, but she can also sing the theme song in Mandarin. Talk about commitment to parenthood!
But I digress...the little girl (her name's Darby) in the show rides a skate scooter around and because we haven't gotten round to buying Skyler a skate scooter (who gives a skate scooter to an under 2 year old?!?), our Little Miss Resourceful decided to imagine one up for herself. Here's Skyler using an old exercise band she found as her very first skate scooter - she'd lay out the band carefully on the floor, step on one end, hold up the other and then try to use one foot to slide herself around the floor. Cute or what??!

An injection of much needed inspiration
Blogs like this and this make me want to sew, sew, sew!
I've fallen really behind in all the gifts I owe to friends and their children (mainly birthdays from as far back as 2008...it's gone beyond embarrassing) but I'm really itching to embark on upcyling old shirts, tees and onesies into gifts that will hopefully make up for the horrible delay.

All I want for Christmas is...
When I was little (probably 3 or 4), I remember wanting a talking doll for Christmas. Finally, after 30 long years, my wish has been granted. I'm so happy that my doll not only talks but she walks and, more importantly, also allows me to play dress-up!
Here's my very own Chatty Cathy. (And in the grain of going green, I made Skyler a new hairband using one of Esmond's old band t-shirts!)
Thank you, God!

Footloose & Fancy Free
Skyler's favourite thing to do when I'm on the computer trying to work, is to look at pictures and videos of us on iPhoto. We came across this relatively 'old' dance clip taken just after Skyler turned 1.
Since we can remember, Skyler has shown an affinity to music, well, rhythm to be more exact. Her body would jiggle almost automatically at the sound of music - once, she even started swaying to a car alarm that went off!
I love this clip for 2 reasons. One, because it shows how music affects her - the almost uncontrollable, automatic response to sound, no matter how cheesy. And two, because Skyler Erin Wee is decked out in an outfit reminiscent of the funky aerobic outfits from the 80's. Go 80's!
Go Skyler!

The Three Musketeers
These three have been meeting almost regularly at our weekly playgroup and in church since they were infants. They're three months apart each (Jordan, Ethan and Skyler, in that order) and it's great to see how each of them have grown.
I just had to share these pictures with you. Too cute!
(Oct'07: 8-month old Jordan on the far left, 5-month old Ethan in the middle and tiny 2-month old Skyler, far right)
(April'08: Skyler & Ethan at the Jacob Ballas Children's Garden)
(Jan'09: Family Night!)
(Feb'09: Jordan, Skyler & Ethan at VivoCity)
ONE FOR ALL AND ALL FOR ONE!
